Inverness
Inverness has been the administrative and cultural capital of the Highlands of Scotland for hundreds of years. Visitors will never be stuck for something to watch or take part in. Events include various Highland Games throughout the summer, Folk Festivals, Food Festivals, Art Festivals and Art and Craft Exhibitions. There are also several Theatres, Cinemas and Music venues.

A busy city with lively nightlife, Inverness has vibrant shopping centres and the beautiful River Ness running right through the middle. Where else can you take a break from shopping to watch a fisherman land a 15lb salmon?!

Inverness is a great cultural centre, with several Live Scottish Music venues, specialising in Highland music past and present. Hootananys and the Ironworks are two of the main venues, but many pubs offer live music on most nights of the week.

All roads radiate out of Inverness, which means you can leave Inverness in the morning, take a grand tour around the Highlands and return in the evening on a completely different road.

Inverness Castle, Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle, Elgin Cathedral, Dornoch Cathedral, Culloden Battlefield [scene of the last battle to be fought on British soil in 1746], dozens of distilleries, Fort George [the largest fort in Europe] and the Clava Cairns are a few of the many attractions within easy reach of Glendruidh House.
